AZERBAIJAN PARLIAMENT DELEGATION VISITS ROMANIA
The same day, Chairman of Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov met with the Chairman of the Romanian Senate Nikolae Vakaroyu. In the meeting at presence of delegations, discussed were issues of mutual interest, including expansion of bilateral political, economic ties, inter-parliamentary relations, joint activity on international organizations, cooperation in economic projects and others. As noted, Romania will become full member of the European Union from January 2007 and have opportunity to render assistance to Azerbaijan’s integration to EU.
The sides had comprehensive exchange of views on Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict and ways for its settlement. The Romanian side once again expressed its support for territorial integrity, for settlement of the conflict in the frame of international laws and principles.
Then, Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament met with Chamber of Deputies President Bogdan Olteanu. Te parties stressed necessity of deepening of all-round relations between tow countries. The Romanian experience in creation of legal base for reforms and cooperation of parliamentarians of both countries was especially noted as useful.
After meeting with the Azerbaijan Diaspora in Bucharest, Speaker of Milli Majlis met with Vice-Premier of Romania Marko Bela to discuss the existent level of cooperation in socio-economic, cultural and other fields, the prospects of inter-governmental ties.
