AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES JAPANESE DELEGATION
The Head of State mentioned the very good level of the relationship established for the last years between Azerbaijan and Japan in many spheres including political one. He especially emphasized good results from the two countries’ economic cooperation. The President cited a number of projects being implemented in Azerbaijan due to the financial aid by the Japanese Government as an example. According to him, aside from giving largest credits to Azerbaijan, Japan renders disinterested aid to the country, as well.
Stressing the good level of Azerbaijan-Japan cooperation in oil and gas field, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with the related activities of the Japanese companies in Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani leader also expressed confidence in further development of relationship between the two countries, and pointed to the important role of the Japanese delegation’s current visit in deepening of the interrelations.
Mr. Toru Toyoshima thanked the President for the warm meeting, and noted that it was the official visit by nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev to Japan in 1998 that laid the foundation of the bilateral relationship. He expressed hope that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan would be developed and strengthened.
Touching on the goal of his delegation’s visit, the guest said that the results of the study of priority directions and prospects of bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan, would be submitted to the Japanese Government and the country’s business circles. According to Toru Toyoshima, Japan shows keen interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan.
He finally informed the President of Azerbaijan on the meetings and negotiations at the government the Japanese delegation had had in Baku.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov and Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan Toshiyuki Fujivara.
