Azerbaijan, Russia strengthen prosecutorial cooperation

Kamran Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General, met with Pyotr Gorodov, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, in Baku.
The officials emphasized the dynamic development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, attributing progress to the joint efforts and political will of the heads of state.
They noted that the high level of strategic partnership and ongoing interstate dialogue provides a solid foundation for deepening cooperation in political, economic, transport-logistics, and humanitarian spheres, particularly in strengthening ties between law enforcement and prosecutorial authorities.
Pyotr Gorodov expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended during his visit and highlighted the strong collaboration between the prosecutorial bodies.
He also praised Azerbaijan for the professional handling of criminal case requests, including solving a long-standing crime committed in Russia and bringing the perpetrators to justice. Gorodov extended an invitation to participate in important international events scheduled later this year.
Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev stressed the importance of international cooperation and engagement with partner institutions for the work of Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office.
Both sides expressed confidence that the close cooperation and friendly relations between their offices would continue to flourish across all areas.
