Azerbaijan, Spain discuss interpartliamentary relations
Baku, February 6 (AZERTAC). Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis Ziyafat Asgarov has today met members of the Spain-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group to discuss relations between the two countries`s legislative bodies.
Asgarov hailed the Spain-Azerbaijan relations. He said his country attaches great importance to developing relationship with Spain. Asgarov praised the fact the two countries support each other in international organizations.
He pointed to “great potential” for the expansion of Azerbaijan-Spain cooperation not only in energy field, but also in non-oil sector. He noted the importance of building legal base for the development of the bilateral ties. “We have signed three documents so far, and work continues on ten new documents now.”
Asgarov also highlighted the causes and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Member of the Spain-Azerbaijani interparliamentary friendship group Jose Maria Chikio stressed the significance of mutual visits and meetings in terms of expansion of bilateral relations. He expressed confidence that the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute would be solved peacefully.
Maria Chikio hailed democratic development in Azerbaijan, saying some of the members of the delegation monitored the parliamentary and presidential election in the country in 2010 and 2013 respectively.
