Azerbaijan, Switzerland discuss prospects for relations

Baku, December 6 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met Swiss counterpart Didier Burkhalter in Kyiv as part of his visit to Ukraine to attend the 20th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council.

The FMs discussed the current state of and prospects for the bilateral bonds between the two countries.

Mr Didier Burkhalter noted Switzerland was ready to support the cooperation between the OSCE and Azerbaijan, as well as the negotiations for settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict during the country’s OSCE presidency period in 2014.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov provided an insight into official Baku’s position on the dispute, stressing the necessity of withdrawal of the Armenian Armed Forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied territories for making progress in the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
