Azerbaijan, Thailand discuss interparliamentary ties
Baku, December 5 (AZERTAC). Members of the Thailand-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group have visited the Azerbaijani Parliament.
Head of the Azerbaijan-Thailand working group Rauf Aliyev spoke of the bilateral bonds between the two countries.
He noted diplomatic ties between the two countries had been developing successfully since they were established in 1992.
Aliyev touched upon bilateral political and economic ties between Azerbaijan and Thailand, noting there was great potential for expansion of cooperation in all spheres.
He also informed the delegation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying official Yerevan does not honor the UN Security Council’s resolutions regarding settlement of the dispute.
Head of the Thailand-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Virun Punsen stressed the key role of both countries’ legislative bodies in expanding cooperation between the countries.
He said Thailand was interested in development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in all spheres and spoke of the importance of future joint projects.
They also said Azerbaijani embassy was expected to open next year in Thailand.
