Azerbaijan to compete in 2014 FIBA Europe 3x3 Championships
Baku, August 11 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s national basketball team will compete in the 2014 FIBA Europe 3x3 Championships that will take place in Bucharest, Romania, from September 4-7.
The format of the competition will see every team play the other three teams in their group, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarter finals.
Azerbaijan will battle with Italy, Slovenia and Romania in the group.
Following three qualifying tournaments which took place across Europe in July and August, 16 men's and 16 women's teams will now compete for the European crown.
Additionally, by successfully qualifying for the European championships, all 16 of the men's teams will next year appear in the 1st European Games which take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, whilst the top 15 women's teams following the European Championships will join hosts Azerbaijan.
