AZERBAIJAN TO EXPORT FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PRODUCTION TO KAZAKHSTAN
A meeting took place in Kazakhstan’s Industry and Trade Ministry connected with improvement of providing the need of the population for fruit and vegetable production, AZERTAC special correspondent reports.
Together with the heads of trading departments of country’s 14 provinces and businessmen, Azerbaijan’s deputy minister for economic development Mikayil Jabbarov, head of Standard Holding Oruj Heydarov, representatives from the Azerbaijan Fund of Encouragement of Export and Investments and the company Agro-Azerinvest participated at the meeting.
It was noted that last year 4 million tons of vegetables, 157 thousand tons of fruit have been produced in Kazakhstan, but the need for them has been 2,5 times more.
Representatives of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have put forward offers on providing Kazakhstan with fruit and vegetables within a year and the sides reached a relevant agreement.
Kazakhstan’s industry and trade minister Galym Orazbakov then received the Azerbaijan delegation led by Mikayil Jabbarov. During the meeting, the sides expressed importance of the further expansion of relations between the two countries.
The questions connected with the construction of Azerbaijan trading home in Astana, the fruit and vegetable terminal in Aktau, and also providing the western regions of Kazakhstan with fruit and vegetable production were discussed at the meeting.
