Azerbaijan, Vietnam discuss parliamentary cooperation prospects
Hanoi, March 6 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and Vietnam have discussed how to develop cooperation between their legislative bodies as Ambassador in Hanoi Anar Imanov met President of Vietnam`s National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung.
They said last year was dramatically successful in terms of development of the Azerbaijani-Vietnamese parliamentary relations. They stressed the importance of the visit of Vice Chairman of Vietnam`s National Assembly Uong Chu Luu to Azerbaijan.
They hailed the launch of inter-parliamentary working groups at both countries` parliaments, saying this boosted “friendly relations” between Azerbaijan and Vietnam.
The Ambassador lauded Sinh Hung`s contribution to strengthening relations between the Azerbaijani and Vietnamese legislative authorities. He said this year would see visits by Azerbaijani high-ranking officials to Vietnam.
Imanov also highlighted the consequences of Armenia`s military aggression against Azerbaijan.
Sinh Hung said Vietnam was ready to improve partnership between the two countries.
He asked Ambassador Imanov to invite the Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker to forthcoming 132nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) due to take place in Vietnam early 2015.
