Azerbaijani Ambassador meets Governor of Pakistani Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province
Islamabad, January 30 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov has met Governor of the country`s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Shaukatullah Khan.
The Ambassador hailed relations between the two countries as friendly and fraternal.
Mr. Shikarov expressed gratitude to Pakistan for supporting Azerbaijan on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The diplomat highlighted ongoing reconstruction work and economic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan.
The Ambassador stressed the importance of restoring direct flights between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, and establishing relations between businessmen. He also underlined the significance of strengthening the activity of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Joint Inter-Governmental Cooperation Commission.
Mr. Khan noted the necessity of deepening political, economic and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
The governor said Pakistan always supported Azerbaijan`s position on the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute. He hailed official Baku`s backing Pakistan on the Kashmir issue.
Mr. Khan also highlighted investment projects implemented in the province and invited the Azerbaijani businessmen to join these projects.
He said humanitarian and social projects carried out on the initiative of Azerbaijan`s first lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province were of great importance to Pakistan.
