Azerbaijani ambassador presents credentials to President of Bangladesh

Elchin Huseynli, Azerbaijan’s incoming non-resident Ambassador to the People's Republic of Bangladesh, presented his credentials to President Mohammed Shahabuddin.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin congratulated Ambassador Huseynli on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission.
Ambassador Elchin Huseynli conveyed the greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the Bangladesh President. The Bangladeshi leader thanked for the greetings and asked the diplomat to pass on his regards to the Azerbaijani President.
The sides mentioned the fruitful collaboration between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh in multilateral platforms, emphasizing the importance of further enhancing bilateral relations.
During his visit to Dhaka, Ambassador Elchin Huseynli met with Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, as well as Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser (Acting Minister) to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of Bangladesh. During the meetings, discussions revolved around the current state of and prospects for bilateral relations between the two countries in the spheres of economy, trade, tourism, air connectivity, culture and education. The sides agreed to step up exchanges and contacts for the development of relations.
The diplomat informed his interlocutors of the upcoming COP29 conference in Baku, including the most pressing issues of climate change. The Azerbaijani ambassador also provided insights into COP29 Presidency’s global initiatives and action agenda to enhance ambition and enable action, as well as major events organized in Baku ahead of COP29 and their outcomes.
Fondly recalling his multiple visits to Azerbaijan to attend landmark events, Muhammad Yunus said that he would visit Baku on November 12-13 to attend the World Leaders Climate Action Summit at the invitation of the Azerbaijani President.
