Azerbaijani ambassador to Belgium addresses symposium at European Parliament
Brussels, May 23 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani ambassador to Belgium and Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, head of the Mission to the European Union Fuad Isgandarov has made a speech at the International Symposium on Cultural Diplomacy at the European Parliament.
The ambassador thanked the organizers for including discussions on “Azerbaijani Experience in Cultural Diplomacy and Azerbaijani Global Integration through Cultural Diplomacy” topic on the agenda of the symposium.
“Azerbaijan has historically been located at the crossroads of civilizations and this geographical situation let the country have rich cultural and spiritual legacy and tolerance traditions,” he said.
The ambassador provided an insight into the country’s achievements in cultural diplomacy, and international forums and conferences hosted by the country.
Isgandarov hailed Azerbaijan`s contribution to developing cultural diplomacy in Europe, saying the country had implemented different projects under patronage of Azerbaijani First lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, goodwill ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Mehriban Aliyeva.
The ambassador also praised the establishment of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center as a strong signal of President Ilham Aliyev`s attention to developing cultural diplomacy.
