Azerbaijani ambassador visits Eastern London, South Africa
Baku, August 7 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani ambassador to South African Republic Elkhan Polukhov has visited the city of Eastern London.
As part of the trip, the ambassador met local businessmen and visited Mercedes-Benz plant.
Mr. Polukhov also delivered a report titled “Stability in the South Caucasus in light of South Africa - Azerbaijan Relations” at a seminar organized by the South African Institute of International Affairs, Eastern Cape Branch (SAIIA).
The event brought together members of the Institute, as well as local businessmen.
Chairperson of SAIIA Jonathan Schewitz said Azerbaijan popularized itself politically and economically on the international arena. He stressed the importance of boosting ties between the two countries.
The ambassador provided information about the increasing tension on the line of contact between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He cited a relevant statement of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ambassador also highlighted Azerbaijan`s position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
He said Armenia`s aggressive policy contradicted international legal norms.
The ambassador provided an insight into development processes in Azerbaijan.
The seminar featured presentation of printing materials of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
