Azerbaijani delegation attends UN-ESCWA Session
Baku, December 11 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijani delegation led by Chairperson of Azerbaijan`s State Committee for Family, Women And Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova attended the 6th Session of the ESCWA Committee on Women held in Kuwait on December 4-5.
Head of the delegation Hijran Huseynova met Kuwaiti counterpart Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Al-Fahad Al-Salem Al-Sabah as part of the visit.
The Chairwoman of the Kuwaiti Cabinet Committee on Women`s Affairs spoke of her visit to Azerbaijan and a meeting with Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
She praised friendly relations between the two countries’ relevant committees, noting the importance of the further expanding these bonds.
Chairwoman of the State Committee on Family, Woman and Child Problems Hijran Huseynova said the Committee attaches great importance to boosting cooperation with the Kuwaiti Cabinet Committee on Women`s Affairs.
They also exchanged views on prospects for the cooperation between the two organizations.
Hijran Huseynova highlighted mechanisms used recently to solve the problems faced by families, women and children in the country, hailing them as successful.
The head of Azerbaijan`s delegation then met Kuwait`s Minister of Social Affairs and Labour Thikra al-Rashidi and Chairwoman of the Kuwait Society for the Handicapped Sheikha Al-Sabah.
Chairwoman of the State Committee on Family, Woman and Child Problems Hijran Huseynova also held a number of bilateral meetings with members of delegations from Morocco, Sudan, Tunis, Palestine, and Egypt.
