Azerbaijani delegation visits Peoples Liberation Army Engineering University to boost demining cooperation

A delegation led by Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held an expanded meeting at the Peoples Liberation Army Engineering University in Nanjing as part of a working trip to the People's Republic of China.
During the meeting, Major General Zhu Xiaoqian, President of the University, briefed the delegation on the institution’s activities and scientific research projects in engineering and technology. The discussions highlighted the positive outcomes of the Joint Statement signed on 23 April 2025 between the leaders of Azerbaijan and China in Beijing, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Cooperation in Humanitarian Demining between ANAMA and the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties explored opportunities for applying modern technologies in demining and discussed potential cooperation prospects.
The Azerbaijani delegation also met with the Head of the University’s Department for Humanitarian Mine Action Training, learning about the training programs, their content, and areas of focus.
The delegation toured the University’s laboratories and training infrastructure, observing scientific research in mine clearance, detection, and disposal of explosive devices. They were briefed on practical training methods at the University’s training grounds and familiarized with the technical equipment used in mine-clearance exercises.
The visit aims to expand international cooperation in mine action, explore advanced technologies, and strengthen partnerships with companies producing mine-clearance equipment.
