Azerbaijani delegation visits Razavi Khorasan Province of Iran
Baku, March 17 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaleddin Heydarov has visited the capital of Razavi Khorasan province, Mashhad, in Iran.
In a meeting with governor of the province Ali Reza Rashidian, the Azerbaijani Minister praised the ties between Azerbaijan and Iran. He said the two counties` people were bound together by cultural, religious and historical ties.
Heydarov also touched upon the economic potential and investment climate in both Azerbaijan and Iran.
Describing his visit to Iran as fruitful, the Minister said that the meetings held would pave the way for promoting the bilateral ties.
Reza Rashidian said strengthening the bilateral relations was in the best interests of both countries.
He said some 13,000 Azerbaijani pilgrims visited Mashhad last year, noting that the establishment of Mashhad-Baku direct flight will play a crucial role in increasing the number of pilgrims.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov was present at the meeting.
