Azerbaijani film to be screened in Russia
Baku, May 26 (AZERTAC). “The Caucasus” (Qafqaz), a film by Azerbaijani cinematographers will be demonstrated in Ulyanovsk, Russia.
The half-hour tape by the Azerbaijani director, has already gained success in the international arena, including winning the most prestigious youth award of American Academy.
The film`s director is Farid Humbatov. Once upon a time, in a completely different life, fun wheels clattering train brought the young Muscovite to the foot of snow Caucasian mountains. I remember her merry companions and hot handsome man - husband, sea captain, who was carrying a dreamer Sonia to his home, in the Caucasus.
It gives its most enthusiastic support to cinema emerging from trouble-spots where external forces interfere in the lives of people, often trampling basic norms of human morals. There is another prominent trend, an abundance of films from Western Europe. This is one of the most difficult, but, yet, feasible tasks of art in the contemporary world.
The studio sees its mission in reviving independent cinema in Europe, inspiring discoveries in cinema language and driving attention to independent cinema by promoting short films created by cinema school students and non-professionals.
