Azerbaijani FM meets Mozambican counterpart
Baku, February 25 (AZERTAC). As part of a visit to the South African region, Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov has met his Mozambican counterpart Oldemiro Baloi.
They discussed how to develop the Azerbaijan-Mozambique cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, culture, education and energy, as well as international and regional issues.
Mammadyarov provided an insight into the history and current state of talks to settle the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, adding as a result of the conflict 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands were occupied by Armenia.
The Azerbaijani FM noted Armenia still refused to honor the UN Security Council`s four resolutions on the settlement of the dispute, and continues occupation of Azerbaijan`s lands.
The Minister stressed the opportunities for the training of Mozambican experts in the field of oil and gas, as well as experience exchange, and Mozambican diplomats studying at the ADA University.
Mammadyarov invited Mozambican counterpart Oldemiro Baloi to visit Azerbaijan.
Baloi stressed the special political importance of Elmar Mammadyarov`s visit to the South African region and Mozambique.
The Mozambican FM said there were ample opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan, and stressed the importance of establishment of the bilateral legal base.
Baloi said they were interested in participation of the Azerbaijani companies in Mozambican infrastructure projects, and the attraction of the Azerbaijani investments to the country.
