Azerbaijani Minister of Internal Affairs meets Greek ambassador
Baku, December 13 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov has today met Greek ambassador Dimitrios Tsoungas.
The minister congratulated the ambassador on his new appointment and wished him successes.
Usubov praised the current level of Greek-Azerbaijani relations, expressing hope that the bilateral cooperation will further develop. He said political wills of heads of states, reciprocal visits and documents signed on joint cooperation would further deepen the relations.
Usubov briefed the Greek diplomat on the Ministry`s activities, tasks, as well as a criminogenic situation in the country. The minister also spoke about processes of reforms.
Usubov said one of the main tasks determined by the Azerbaijani President was protection of human rights and freedoms. He said the ministry attaches serious significance to fulfilling these tasks.
On bilateral cooperation, the minister pointed out ministries of internal affairs of Azerbaijan and Greece cooperate only within International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). Usubov said that ministries had a great potential to further develop the relations.
The minister also emphasized a possibility of a joint struggle against transnational crime.
The Greek ambassador said his country was keen on deepening cooperation with Azerbaijan in all fields, adding he will spare no efforts to contribute to further developing the bilateral ties.
