Azerbaijani MPs observe elections in Serbia
Belgrade, March 17 (AZERTAC). Chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament`s agrarian committee Eldar Ibrahimov and MP Astan Shaverdiyev have monitored early parliamentary elections in Serbia.
The Azerbaijani parliamentarians issued statements, describing the ballot as transparent, democratic, and meeting international standards.
As part of their trip, the Azerbaijani MPs visited the Serbian Parliament to meet leader of Serbia-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Irena Vuyovich and other Serbian colleagues.
They praised the relations between the two countries as “strategic”. The sides stressed the importance of further strengthening the bilateral relations.
The parliamentarians also visited Tashmaydan Park which was repaired and restored with the financial aid by the Azerbaijani government, and put flowers at monuments to national leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent Serbian writer Milorad Pavich.
Ibrahimov and Shahverdiyev also visited a bust of Azerbaijan`s great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli in the city of Novi Shad, whose erection was initiated by President Ilham Aliyev and supported by the Azerbaijani government.
