Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker meets NATO PA president

Baku, June 18 (AZERTAC). Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Ogtay Asadov has met President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Hugh Bayley.

Asadov expressed hope that the 86th Rose Roth seminar titled “South Caucasus: Challenges and opportunities” organized by the Milli Majlis and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Baku would positively impact on the settlement of the existing problems in the region, and contribute to ensuring peace and security.

He noted that Azerbaijan attached great importance to the development of ties with NATO and its Parliamentary Assembly. Asadov said Azerbaijan was closely involved in the NATO peacekeeping operations.

Hugh Bayley praised the organization of the Rose-Roth seminar.

He also hailed Azerbaijan`s cooperation with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
