AZERBAIJANI PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION VISITED PAKISTAN
Chaudhry Amir Hussain, speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan received the Azerbaijani delegation. Mr. Hussain pointed out that his country attaches great significance to the development of bilateral relations with Azerbaijan. This visit will enhance the ties between the states and give impetus to the expansion of the interparliamentary relations, he said.
Mr. Ibrahimov, in his turn, stressed that Azerbaijan also pays important significance to cooperation with Pakistan. He handed over to Chaudhry Amir Hussain a letter of invitation to visit Azerbaijan from the Chairman of the Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov..
The delegation also met with the Foreign Affairs Minister of Pakistan, Minister of Fuel and Natural Resources and Co-Chairperson of Pakistan-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Joint Commission to discuss the issues of cooperation.
The deputies also attended the round table discussions “Azerbaijan and regional energy issues” held at Quaid- i-Azam University. The members of the delegation gave and insight into the Azerbaijan’s increasing role in the region, and connection of the energy security with the political and economical interests.
During the visit, the rectors of the Islamabad National University of Modern Languages and Nakhchivan State University signed protocol of cooperation.
The Azerbaijani delegation attended the opening ceremony of Azerbaijani nook at “Lok Virsa” museum. The heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in Pakistan, the public and Azerbaijanis living in Islamabad partook at the event.
