Azerbaijani PM meets participants of 7th international conference in Gabala
Baku, June 6 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Prime Minster Artur Rasizade has met participants of the 7th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) International Conference on Disaster Risk Management.
The Premier was informed that the conference initiated by the ECO and organized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations brought together relevant authorities of the Member States, as well as heads and experts of international and regional organizations, including the UN organizations related to disaster management.
The conference featured discussions on the disaster in the ECO Region and the efforts of the Member States in addressing natural disasters, and issues of developing and expanding cooperation in the region.
Speakers at the meeting highlighted the importance of the conference in terms of preparing concrete policy of reducing disaster risk in emergency situations and establishment of the joint activity platform.
Azerbaijani Premier informed participants of the 7th ECO International Conference about the social, political, economic and cultural situation in the country.
The Premier also touched on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and noted the country’s position on the importance of settlement of the dispute within the norms of the international law and inviolability of the borders and ensuring the country’s territorial integrity.
They also discussed the prospects for the joint cooperation in emergency situations field.
Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations was present at the meting.
