Azerbaijani PM meets with his Georgian counterpart in Baku

Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov has met with visiting Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze.
During the meeting, the parties acknowledged the strong Azerbaijani-Georgian strategic partnership across various domains, emphasizing the active political dialogue between the two countries and their mutual support within the international organizations.
The sides hailed the flourishing economic cooperation. The parties described Azerbaijan as one of the main investors in Georgia and key trade partners. They highlighted the success of joint energy and transport projects, notably the strategic significance of the Southern Gas Corridor.
The PMs expressed their confidence in the green energy bridge to Europe, facilitated by Azerbaijan and Georgia, contributing significantly to the energy security of numerous European countries.
Transport and transit were identified as pivotal aspects of Azerbaijan-Georgia cooperation, with a particular emphasis on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and joint efforts towards the development of the Middle Corridor.
The PMs also highlighted new opportunities for cooperation following the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from occupation, and expressed confidence that the restoration of economic relations and transport communications in the South Caucasus would serve to increase cargo transportation, bringing essential economic benefits to all countries of the region.
The sides celebrated the dynamic cooperation in the cultural-humanitarian domain, affirming its vital role in strengthening the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, fostering greater closeness between their peoples.
Additionally, the PMs recognized untapped potential for enhancing bilateral cooperation across various realms, emphasizing the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, co-chaired by the Prime Ministers, as a key platform for realizing ongoing opportunities.
Considering the positive trajectory of Azerbaijan-Georgia relations and the broad scope of cooperation, Ali Asadov proposed hosting the 10th anniversary meeting of the Commission in Baku in the coming months, and invited Irakli Kobakhidze to visit Azerbaijan, which the Prime Minister of Georgia warmly accepted.
They also discussed the prospects for trade, economic, investment, transport, transit, energy, information technologies, agriculture, humanitarian, and other areas of mutual interest between the two countries.
