AZERBAIJANI POPULATION INCREASED BY 23.000 OVER PAST THREE MONTHS
Population of Azerbaijan Republic made up 8,653,000 increasing by 23.000 over the past three month. 4477 or 51,4 per cent persons live in the city, while 4176 (48,3 per cent) in the rural area.
49,3 per cent are men, 50,7 per cent- women. The middle age is 31 years, life expectancy is 72.4 years, men - 69.7 years, women-75.1.
As for January-March 2008, 38 thousand babies were born, of whom 53.4 per cent are boys, 46.6 per cent- girls, 330 babies are twins, 3- triplets.
Mortality constituted 15.300 people from the beginning of year. Number of marriage recorded 16.200, while divorced 2.000.
741 persons applied for permanent residence in Azerbaijan and 677 migrated from here.
