Azerbaijani Research Center opens in Trento
Trento, May 23 (AZERTAC). The Azerbaijani Research Center has been launched in Trento, Italy.
Participants in the opening ceremony included Azerbaijani ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov, chairman of Azerbaijani-Italian Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Senator Sergio Divina, and Mayor of Levico Terme commune Micele Sartori.
The Center will promote scientific researches on Azerbaijan, and hold conferences, debates, seminars and trainings on Azerbaijan-related issues.
The Center hosted a roundtable titled “Religious tolerance model: Azerbaijan”, which was moderated by deputy Editor-in-chief of Trentino newspaper Paola Mantova. It was attended by representatives of academic and business circles.
Director of the Azerbaijani Research Center Fernando Orlandi provided information about the center.
He hailed the opening of the center as a strong signal of excellent relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Sadigov also praised the opening of the center. He said it would play an important role in increasing the Italian society`s awareness of Azerbaijan`s realities.
The ambassador praised environment in Azerbaijan, saying it was a model to follow to other countries.
“Azerbaijan is known as a tolerant country all over the world. The country is a place where various peoples and nations live in a friendly and sincere atmosphere,” he said.
Research Fellow at Institute for International Political Studies in Milan Carlo Frappi lauded the creation of equal opportunities and rights for representatives of all cultures and religions in Azerbaijan.
The event saw a presentation of Giovanni Bensi`s “Religions in Azerbaijan” book.
