AZERBAIJANI STUDENT PROMOTES THE FIRST LARGE SUCCESS OF HILLARY CLINTON
One of the volunteers of pre-election campaign of Hillary Clinton was the Azerbaijani student of the Harvard University in USA.
At the primaries taken place on January 8 in the American state of New Hampshire, an unexpected victory has gained the candidate for presidency from the Democratic Party, Senator Hillary Clinton.
Among volunteers of pre-election campaign of H. Clinton there was also an Azerbaijani, Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, the student of Harvard University, who, having arrived in New Hampshire together with a group of friends from University, also has contributed to the first victory of Hillary Clinton in struggle for presidency. Below is what the Azerbaijani student told AZERTAC correspondent to this end.
"In this victory, there is also my small contribution. The group of students of the Harvard University has voluntarily joined the pre-election campaign of various candidates in New Hampshire. For me, it was valuable experience, and gave opportunity to communicate with candidates and their advisers, to popularize Azerbaijan. I think, that members of our community in America, in particular, youth and students, should work with each candidate, speak them about value of Azerbaijan for the USA, inform on the problems disturbing the Turkish-speaking voters. As, irrespective of who will win finally, each of these candidates is the authoritative person in the American society.
When our group has joined H. Clinton’s pre-election campaign, there, after defeat in state of Iowa, all were pessimistic. But we called on the voters to cheer up and receive new voices. Many trusted, that exactly owing to our efforts, H. Clinton has won over Barack Obama.
We had a brief conversation with Clinton couple, and also with their daughter Chelsea. They have thanked the volunteers among whom I was a single foreign student. Having heard, that I am from Azerbaijan, Bill and Hillary were kindly surprised. I also could talk a little to Chelsea. She was interested in Azerbaijan, asking about election process in Azerbaijan.
Later I was already called on from Hillary’s pre-election staff and informed, that Ms. Clinton has wished, that I, too, were on the stage when she will represent herself as the winner of voting in New Hampshire”.
