Azerbaijani weightlifter wins world bronze
Baku, October 24 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani weightlifter Firudin Aghayev weighing in at 69kg has finished his World Championship debut with bronze medal in Wroclaw, Poland.
The athlete enjoyed personal record heaving 143kg above his head in the snatch at the 3rd effort. According the showed result Aghayev took 8th place.
In the clean and jerk the athlete showed fantastic form thanks to heaving 194kg above the head at his last attempt.
Aghayev also set up new World record among youth after breaking 190kg record of Liao Hui.
The weightlifter also beat 189kg record of Romanian Razvan Martin among the youth in clean and jerk.
Apart from the silver medal which was claimed thanks to his 194kg result, Azerbaijani Agayev also captured 3rd place for a total lift of 337kg.
