Azerbaijani wrestlers pick up 8 European medals

Baku, June 23 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani wrestlers have brought home a clutch of 8 medals, including 4 golds from the European championships in Katowice, Poland.

The gold medals came from Nurmahammad Hajiyev, Ibrahim Nurullayev, Murad Mammadov and Islam Abbasov.

Another Azerbaijani wrestler Murad Suleymanov claimed silver medal.

Elmira Gambarova grabbed silver, while Turkan Nasirova and Ragnetta Gurbanzede won bronze medals in the women`s event.

Azerbaijan ranked third in the overall medal table, behind Russia and Georgia.
