“AZERBAIJANISM IS OUR NATIONAL IDEOLOGY” CONFERENCE HELD IN BAKU
Members of Parlimanet, representatives of the public of the district, renowned scientists, men of art and culture, educators, students, heads of the youth organizations have taken part in action.
Opening the conference, head of the Executive Power Sahib Alakbarov has told about creation, formation and development of ideology of Azerbaijanis. He has noted, that thanks to wise and farsighted policy of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijanism as the basis of our national ideology has been lifted up to a level of state policy. Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, having undertaken serious steps directed on strengthening of connections between Azerbaijanians living in the different countries of the world, has issued a special Decree on creation of the State Committee on Work with the Azerbaijanians Living in Foreign Countries. He has leaded the I Congress of Azerbaijanians of the World in Baku. President Ilham Aliyev successfully continuing this line, at II Congress of Azerbaijanians of the World in 2006, has emphasized, that strengthening of connections with the compatriots is one of priorities of the state. He has declared, that the government carries out necessary measures in this area.
The embassies and representations of Azerbaijan are established in foreign countries, in the frame of inter-parliamentary links and national diplomacy, the important work is carried out for recognition of Azerbaijan all over the world, for association of our compatriots living in the various countries. Visit to the USA in December of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, the head of working group on the Azerbaijan-American inter-parliamentary relations, the president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, from this point of view, has special value, he emphasized.
Other speakers have emphasized importance of the regular organization of similar actions in the leading states of the world for the further strengthening of the idea of unity, spirituality between our country-fellows, successful propagation of the idea of Azerbaijanism, closer acquaintance with Azerbaijan on a global scale.
Also was especially underlined, that if 5-10 years ago the President of Azerbaijan was the President of 8-million people, today, more than 50 million Azerbaijanians, having consolidated around of the idea of Azerbaijanism, owing to the policy pursued by Heydar Aliyev, considers Ilham Aliyev as the President.
Finally, participants of the action accepted on the occasion of the Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijanians of the World, Gurban Bayram and New Year the congratulations to the people and Azerbaijanians of the world.
