AZERBAIJAN`S IMPORTANCE IS INCREASING FOR EUROPE, NATIG ALIYEV

Azerbaijan`s importance is increasing for Europe, the country’s Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev said.

The Azeri Minister`s statement came after his country signed a memorandum of understating with Switzerland in Baku to establish energy cooperation.

Aliyev said visits by European countries` ministers to Azerbaijan have become more frequent, and “this shows the accelerating interest towards our country”.

“Our country’s rich energy resources must serve development not only of the region, but also of Europe and of the whole world”, he noted.

Natig Aliyev stressed Azerbaijan is exploring new routes to deliver its energy resources to the world markets.

He added Azeri gas is now exported only to Georgia and Turkey, but in future it will be delivered to Central European countries too.

Natig Aliyev also emphasized Azerbaijan places particular emphasize on development of its relationships with Switzerland.
