AZERBAIJAN’S MINISTER OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MEETS CZECH‘S DEPUTY FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTER
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babayev met with Tomáš Pojar, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of the Czech Republic, Ministry’s press-service said.
Mr. Babayev gave detailed information about successful reforms being implemented in Azerbaijan’s economy. Minister underlined that currently Czech companies are engaged in the country’s different sectors, mainly banking and construction areas. The Czech companies expand cooperation with Azerbaijani Investment Company and Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO).
Mr. Pojar, in his turn, underlined that the Czech Republic will soon preside at the European Union and to pay particular attention to widening ties between the countries in the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy. Mr. Pojar underlined that opening of the Czech diplomatic representation in Azerbaijan is under consideration. “Czech Republic imports 22 percent of Azerbaijani oil, but his country is also keens on enhancing cooperation in other sectors, said Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister.
