AZERI CHESS GRAND MASTER DEFEATS ARMENIAN RIVAL IN MOSCOW TOURNAMENT

Azerbaijan’s chess grand master Gadir Huseynov defeated Armenian Artur Gabrielian in the Moscow Open 2008 tournament.

Huseynov gained 2.5 points to post Azerbaijan’s best result in category “A”.

Another two Azerbaijani players Rufat Bagirov and Eltac Safarli have 2 and 1.5 points respectively.

In the women`s event, Azerbaijani player Viktoria Avdeeva scored 1.5 points.
