AZERI ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MINISTER MEETS WORLD BANK DELEGATION
Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babayev met with a delegation of the World Bank. Babayev spoke on Azerbaijan`s economic reforms and work done to develop business environment in the country.
Babayev noted a State Program for 2008-2013 is expected to be adopted to cover state policy on development of entrepreneurship.
Creator of the Doing Business series Simeon Djankov stressed the importance of cooperation between the Azerbaijani government and the Doing Business team.
He praised what Azerbaijan has done to simplify the process of registering businessmen, and improve the tax system and state property registration system.
World Bank Country Manager for Azerbaijan Gregory Jedrzejczak and representatives of International Finance Corporation for Azerbaijan Aliya Azimova were present at the meeting.
