AZERI WEIGHTLIFTERS CLAIM 14 MEDALS IN CIS CUP

Baku, December 15 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani veteran and young weightlifters have brought home a clutch of 14 medals, including 10 golds from the 7th Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)cup in Brest, Belarus.

In the veterans` event, gold medals came from Akif Aliyev weighing in at 56 kg, Ahmad Shahbazov at 94 kg, Nasimi Bagirov at 105 kg and Agakarim Karimov at over 105 kg.

In the youngsters` event Farrukh Fataliyev claimed gold in the 34 kg class, while Ali Mammadli in the 38kg, Kanan Aliguluzadeh in the 42 kg, Pasha Ibrahimli in the 50 kg, Elkhan Aliguluzadeh in the 56 kg and Jeyhun Tagizadeh in the 62 kg weight categories.
