AzerTAc Director General Aslan Aslanov receives jubilee Silver Medal of CIS
Baku, October 4 (AZERTAC). Director General of the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency, AZERTAC, Aslan Aslanov has received jubilee Silver Medal of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) at the 17th meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of state-run news agencies in Chisinau, Moldova.
The announcement to award the Director General of AZERTAC as well as Director General of Kazinform news agency Dauren Diyarov for their contribution to integration processes in CIS member countries was made by Director of the Information and Analytical Department of the CIS Executive Committee Alexander Zavarzin.
The meeting was attended by delegates from Moldova, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Armenia, and as well as CIS Executive Committee representatives. AZERTAC was represented by Tamilla Nuriyeva, Editor-in-Chief of the Russian Service.
Chaired by ITAR-TASS first Deputy Director General Mikhail Gusman, the agenda of the meeting included the issues of cooperation among news agencies of CIS member countries, joint projects as part of the Association of National News Agencies of the CIS member states (ANIA), and the coverage of Belarus`s presidency of CIS in 2013.
Moldpress Director General Vladimir Darie made a report on the activities of his agency.
The agenda also included celebrations of the upcoming 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the launch of the electronic calendar for remarkable dates in the life of the member countries, the organization of contests, and the improvement of ICT technologies.
The participants also discussed the date and venue of the next gathering.
The participants of the meeting were received by Prime Minister of Moldova Yuriy Lyanke.
