Baku, May 16, AZERTAC
AZERTAC photo correspondent Ilgar Jafarov has received multiple international awards at prestigious photography competitions organized by the International Federation of Photographic Arts (FIAP) in Hong Kong, Serbia, and Türkiye.
At the 5th HKCCPA International Salon 2025 in Hong Kong, which gathered 224 photographers from 47 countries, Jafarov’s photo titled “Athlete Willpower” was awarded the FIAP gold medal in the photojournalism category.
His work “Near the Attraction” earned him the “Master of Light Gold Plaquette” at the Good Light 2025 competition in Serbia.
Jafarov also received accolades for his powerful wartime photography. His images “There Was Our House” and “Night Tragedy”, taken in Tartar and Ganja during the First and Second Karabakh Wars, were honored at Serbia’s PhotoEXPO 2025 with the FIAP Ribbon of Honor and the International Association of Photographic Art (IAAP) silver medal, respectively.
Additionally, Jafarov was named “Best Photographer” at the Woman and Sports competition in Türkiye, which featured 811 photos by 245 photographers from 23 countries.
