Bahrain, Uzbekistan sign MoU in Finance

Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with Yousif Abdullah Al Humood, Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, as part Bahrain’s participation in the AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies (EME). The event is organised by the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Saudi Arabia, according to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
The meeting reviewed the positive trajectory of Bahrain–Uzbekistan relations, with both sides noting the expanding scope of cooperation, particularly in financial and economic affairs. The undersecretary affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to further strengthening these partnerships in a way that serves the interests of both countries.
The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Finance and National Economy of Bahrain and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, aimed at advancing cooperation in financial and economic fields. The MoU was signed for Bahrain by Yousif Abdullah Al Humood, Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, and for Uzbekistan by Ilkhom Umurzakov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan.
The MoU provides a framework for closer coordination through the exchange of expertise, regular consultations, and joint economic events, as well as the formation of joint working groups to develop shared initiatives and address areas of mutual interest.
