Baku 2015 European Games announces Nar Mobile as Official Partner

Baku, July 2 (AZERTAC). Baku 2015 European Games has signed an agreement with Nar Mobile, Azerbaijan’s fastest-growing mobile operator, to become the official mobile telecommunications service provider for the event.

The agreement sees Nar Mobile become the first national partner of the inaugural European Games, in a deal which will promote the event extensively across the whole of Azerbaijan.

Nar Mobile will assist in raising awareness of the Games through multi-platform promotional campaigns, which will include opportunities for their customers to win tickets to the event.

Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports and Chief Executive of Baku 2015, said: “This is an important agreement which will see Nar Mobile bring their extensive telecommunications expertise to support the delivery of the first-ever European Games.

“It is vital to have Azerbaijani companies involved to produce an innovative and inclusive event that will be of long-standing benefit to both Baku and Azerbaijan.”

Since its creation, Nar Mobile has carried out large-scale social initiatives and has supported many projects promoting national art, culture and sport. It remains committed to effectively meeting consumer needs while offering exceptional value in tariffs and outstanding customer care.

Nar Mobile will also use its innovative networks to encourage engagement and interaction with its customers to help them feel connected to the European Games.

Baku 2015 will be the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative new multi-sport event for the continent that will take place from June 12 until June 28 2015.

There will be a total of 19 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and three non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes are expected to represent their nations over the 17 days of competition.

Nine of the sports will offer qualification opportunities for the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics in 2016. Those sports include archery, athletics, beach volleyball, cycling, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and triathlon.

Baku was awarded the Games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012. The Baku European Games Operations Committee (BEGOC) will organise and run the Games in co-operation with the EOC.
