BAKU GRAIN TERMINAL OPENED
The Grain Terminal in Hovsan district of Baku was inaugurated on 4 April. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov took part at the ceremony.
President of Azerbaijan met with the delegation of Kazakhstan and toured the area of terminal.
As stated, the Baku Grain Terminal was built on decision of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan inter-governmental economic commission, to create efficient and steady system of grain market in the country, basing on the experience of grain terminal at the Aktau port of Kazakhstan. On this purpose, a special “Baku Grain Terminal” LTD with charter capital of 6 million dollars was created. The charges were equally shared between the parties.

President of Azerbaijan and Premier of Kazakhstan set the terminal into motion. The grain received from Kazakhstan in vessels was stored in the terminal. President Aliyev and Premier Masimov familiarized themselves with the process, viewed the terminal’s indices.
As stated, the famous world companies as Spanish «Silos Cordoba», Belgian «Vigan», and French «Telemechnaics» have
equipped the Baku Terminal the construction of which was started a year ago.

The Terminal will enable to provide Azerbaijan with grain and also transport the Kazakh grain to the Caucasus and European countries.
In second phase, on the terminal’s base, a modern mill with capacity of 150-ton flour will be constructed. Currently, the Terminal employs 60 people.
