Baku hosts reception on Republic Day of India
Baku, January 27 (AZERTAC). The Indian Embassy in Azerbaijan has today hosted a reception on the country`s Republic Day.
After playing the national anthems of the two countries, Ambassador of India Vinod Kumar briefed the event participants on the country`s achievements in the various spheres, and touched upon the historically existing relations between the two countries. The Ambassador noted India was one of the first countries to build diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan after it restored its independence.
He expressed hope that the Azerbaijan-India ties would continue to develop.
On behalf of Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyngulu Baghirov congratulated the Indian people on the occasion of the holiday.
He said relations between Azerbaijan and India were steadily developing for the prosperity of the two countries` people.
The Minister hailed the activity of the Azerbaijan-India Intergovernmental Commission.
Mr. Baghirov also noted that Azerbaijan attached great importance to development of relations with India.
The event brought together Azerbaijan`s state and government officials, as well as MPs, ambassadors of foreign countries, and public figures.
