Baku hosts reception on Serbia`s Statehood Day
Baku, February 18 (AZERTAC). Serbia`s Embassy in Baku has hosted a reception on the country`s Statehood Day.
Speaking to the event, Ambassador Zoran Vayovic highlighted the history of Serbia`s development, as well as the country`s political and economic achievements.
He hailed the current state of relations between the two countries as friendly, saying they were developing in the political, economic, and cultural fields.
The Ambassador said reciprocal visits of the heads of state had created favorable conditions for development of the Azerbaijan-Serbia bonds.
Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev also praised the relations between the two countries, noting they were built on the foundations of strategic partnership and friendship.
The Minister said meetings held during reciprocal visits of the presidents, and the agreements signed would contribute to developing the bilateral relations, particularly trade and economic cooperation.
The event brought together Azerbaijan`s state and government officials, MPs, public figures, and foreign ambassadors in the country.
President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic has recently conferred the Order of the Serbian Flag upon head of the Azerbaijani “Space” Television Channel Vagif Mustafayev for his contributions to developing cultural cooperation between the two countries.
