Baku to host Azerbaijani-Iranian intergovernmental commission meeting
Tehran, June 19 (AZERTAC). “Azerbaijani-Iranian intergovernmental commission will convene in Baku on August 13-14,” Azerbaijani communications and high technologies minister Ali Abbasov, who is on a visit in Tehran, has told AZERTAC`s correspondent.
“We agreed the issue at a meeting with Iranian minister of communications and information technologies, the co-chair of the commission Mahmoud Vaizi.”
“Azerbaijan and Iran have large oil and gas reserves, so our economies depend on natural resources to some extent,” said Mr. Abbasov.
“Our opinions and wishes coincide as regards the development of the high-technologies sector, which has great prospects,” he added.
The minister said: “As a result of the activities of Azerbaijani-Iranian intergovernmental commission the two countries will draw up an agreement on cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies.”
“The signing of the agreement will open Iranian ICT market to Azerbaijani companies, while Iranian companies will gain access to the Azerbaijani market,” Mr. Abbasov added.
