Balkan Regional Biathlon Cup competitions begin in Bansko

The IBU Regional Balkan Biathlon Cup 2 competition was officially opened in Bansko, according to the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).
More than 60 biathletes from Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, North Macedonia and Croatia will participate in the competition.
The official guests of the event at the opening ceremony included the Bulgarian Biathlon Federation President Atanas Furnadzhiev and the Deputy Mayor of Bansko Municipality, Magdalena Yuseva, who wished the participants success in the Balkan Cup competitions. “It is a great honour for Bansko to host such a major event again," said Yuseva, adding that in a few weeks bansko will also host the Snowboard World Cup. "But for us, the biathlon has a special meaning and this is evident from the popularity of this difficult and attractive sport in Bansko and the achievements of our fellow citizens in it,” the Bansko Deputy mayor added.
The Regional Balkan Cup will continue until January 11, when the official award ceremony will be held at Banderishka Polyana.
