Barca unveil Chile keeper Bravo
Baku, July 8 (AZERTAC). Chile goalkeeper, Claudio Bravo, has signed a four-year contract with FC Barcelona and was officially unveiled by the club on Monday.
The 31-year-old has passed his medical at Camp Nou today and completed his €12 million move from Real Sociedad to the Catalan giants.
“I am so proud to form part of this institution,” Bravo said at his unveiling.
“I want to thank Barça for putting their trust in me. I have always hoped that a moment like this would come.”
Bravo joins 22-year-old Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Jordi Masip, who has been promoted from Barcelona’s B-side, as the club’s third new goalkeeper, but says he is ready for the competition.
“I think all three of us are starting from scratch and we are all here for the same thing, for the good of the team,” he added.
“From my point of view, I am safe in the knowledge that I am here to work as hard as I can. I have never played for any team where I have always known that I’d be the first choice.”
Barcelona sporting director, Andoni Zubizarreta, described Bravo as a “goalkeeper with personality, character and a competitive spirit, who relates well with his defenders and is excellent with his feet.
And he added that “I’m delighted that there’s so much competition for the goalkeeper’s role.”
