BOOK PRESENTATION CEREMONY AT OMBUDSWOMAN’S OFFICE
The book had been published and translated into Azeri and Russian on the initiative of the Ombudswoman Elmira Suleymanova, by request of UNESCO and with the financial support of UNIFEM.
During the ceremony, Ombudswoman Elmira Suleymanova stressed in particular, that our people, who had faced the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resulted from the Armenian aggression are suffering from the war even today, and the theme of peace, therefore, is very important to every citizen of the country. She noted that the book presented is a valuable source for propaganda of the culture of peace and gender-based approach to human rights issues through education.
Other speakers - UNIFEM National coordinator Gulshan Pashayeva, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan National Commission on UNESCO Ramiz Abutalybov, President of the Azerbaijan Culture Association “Simurg” Fuad Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee for Women’s problems Zahra Guliyev etc. - mentioned socio-political and other advantages of the book.
Participants of the event have also put forward a number of proposals related to propaganda of the culture of peace in Azerbaijan.
