Brazil to name Luiz Felipe Scolari's successor on Tuesday
Baku, July 20 (AZERTAC). Brazil's new coach will be unveiled at a news conference on Tuesday after Luiz Felipe Scolari's resignation.
Scolari, 65, guided the hosts to the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup, but Brazil suffered their joint heaviest ever defeat, losing 7-1 to Germany.
Former boss Dunga, who managed the team from 2006 to 2011, could return.
Other contenders include Corinthians boss Tite, Sao Paulo manager Muricy Ramalho and Vanderlei Luxemburgo, the national manager from 1998 to 2000.
On Thursday, Brazil's football federation, CBF, appointed Gilmar Rinaldi as Brazil's general co-ordinator, with responsibility for all levels of the national team.
He said: "The most important thing is to define what we want and the profile of the person we want. We must recognise that we need to change."
After their defeat against Germany, the Selecao were beaten 3-0 by the Netherlands in the third-place play-off as Brazil suffered consecutive home defeats for first time since 1940.
Scolari, who guided Brazil to World Cup victory in 2002, and his entire backroom staff have all left their posts since the tournament finished.
Meanwhile, Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella, 59, will decide his future next week after his side lost 1-0 to Germany in the World Cup final.
Members of the squad have said they want Sabella to remain in charge for the 2015 Copa America in Chile.
"It's down to whether I feel strong enough to give 100%," said Sabella.
