BSEC MINISTERS OF CULTURE MEET IN GREECE
The meeting of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) working group on culture on July 2-3 was followed by the meeting of the Culture Ministers of the BSEC member states on July 4 in Greece.
The Azerbaijani delegation led by Edalet Veliyev, the Deputy Minister of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, partook in the meeting of the Ministers of Culture, while the meeting of the working group was attended by Vasif Eyvazzade, an advisor of the Ministry of Tourism’s department for cooperation with international organizations and programs.
Discussions at both meetings were focused on the cultural cooperation, cross-cultural dialogue, economy of culture and ongoing cultural processes in the Black Sea region etc. Sounion declaration and two-year action plan were adopted during the meeting of ministers.
The Minister E.Veliyev stressed the importance of cultural cooperation within the BSEC, noting that these ties will help develop multilateral cooperation.
Deputy Minister informed the participants of the occupation of 20% of Azerbaijan’s lands by Armenia, which resulted in violating cultural rights of the people who used to live there as well as destroying Azerbaijan’s cultural monuments.
At the meeting of the working group on culture, V.Eyvazzade called on the members of the group to cooperate more actively.
