Canadian-Azerbaijani Interparliamentary Friendship Group holds its annual meeting
Baku, November 28 (AZERTAC). The Canadian-Azerbaijani Interparliamentary Friendship Group (CAIFG) has held its annual meeting in Canada.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Canada Farid Shafiyev attended the event.
The meeting participants discussed the current state of and prospects for the Azerbaijan-Canada relations in a variety of fields, including politics and economy.
The diplomat stressed the necessity of developing bilateral ties between the two countries even further.
Shafiyev noted the interparliamentary cooperation played an important role in expanding these ties.
He stressed the importance of continuing reciprocal visits of the two countries` MPs in terms of development of the bilateral relationship.
Chairman of the Friendship Group Barry Devolin said Canada attached great importance to expansion of relations with Azerbaijan.
They also discussed the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, geopolitical situation in the region, as well as Azerbaijan`s relations with other countries.
