CAREC MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE ADOPTS COMPREHENSIVE ACTION PLAN
The ministerial conference of the Asian Development Bank-supported Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation program (CAREC) was held October 18-20 in Urumqi, People's Republic of China.
The event gathered ministers from eight countries participating in the CAREC (Azerbaijan, China, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan). The delegation of Azerbaijan included Samir Veliyev head of the Economic Development Ministry’s Administration as well as officers of the Ministries of Transport, Industry and Energy and State Customs Committee.
The ministerial conference adopted the CAREC Comprehensive Action Plan, which sets the mission and agenda of the Program over the medium term.
In conclusion, event participants adopted the Urumqi Declaration. The declaration reaffirms each countries' commitment to development through cooperation, leading to accelerated economic growth and poverty reduction
